Today was a late start for us.\u00a0 We finally got moving about noon and decided today we would just walk around some and see what there was to see.\u00a0 We ended up walking roughly 7 miles by the time we got back to our apartment today.<\/p>\n

We took a trip down to Dupont Circle Metro stop.\u00a0 Needed to pick up a metro pass for later in the week.<\/p>\n

Kind of looks like you are going down into the center of the earth…….oh wait..you kind of are.\u00a0 LOLOL.<\/p>\n

Dwayne took pity on me after a while and we made a pit stop at Starbucks for a drink.\u00a0 Then he proceeded to walk it off.\u00a0\u00a0 Down by the World Bank saw this and thought it was kind of interesting.<\/p>\n

After that we find ourselves down by the White House.\u00a0 We were even able to walk around the monuments.\u00a0\u00a0 You still aren’t able to get into the Lincoln Memorial or the Jefferson Memorial.<\/p>\n

They actually had the barricades down and we were able to walk through the WWII memorial and along the reflecting pool down to the Lincoln Memorial.\u00a0 You still can’t get into the Memorial but you can at least take pictures.<\/p>\n

We walked around to the Vietnam Memorial.\u00a0 Along the way we went by this pond.<\/p>\n

All the fountains around town are off thanks to the Government shutdown but the Federal Reserve seems to have money to burn because theirs was the only one running…….<\/p>\n

We stopped to have dinner on our way back and that was pretty much the day.\u00a0 Tomorrow we are off to Mt Vernon and who knows what else.<\/p>\n
