We started the day out getting coffee and breakfast at Starbucks.\u00a0 We sat there looking out the window doing a little people watching.\u00a0 That was quite the fashion show we got.\u00a0 Needless to say anything goes around here for clothes.<\/p>\n

After we finished our coffee we set out looking for a grocery store.\u00a0 That turned out to not be as easy as one would think.\u00a0 We were finally successful and got what we needed and headed back to the apt.<\/p>\n

We decided to take a walk and started walking through Central Park.\u00a0 Our apt is on E 78th right next to Central Park so that is where we started.<\/p>\n

We walked to Belvedere Castle (which is in the center of the park).\u00a0 Quite the views from there.<\/p>\n

We continued walking south through the park, past The Lake, around to Bethesda Terrace and down The Mall to the corner of 5th and Park Lane.\u00a0 We did some more people watching and saw the horse drawn carriages that run through Central Park.<\/p>\n

From the park we walked down 5th Ave towards Rockefeller Center.\u00a0 Since we were there we decided to do the Top of the Rock.\u00a0 This is an observation platform on the 67th floor with an incredible view of New York.\u00a0 The ride up in the elevator took 43 seconds.\u00a0 The roof of the elevator is clear plexiglass so you can look up and see the elevator shaft and when you get to the top.<\/p>\n

Looking towards central park. The building on the right side in the middle of the park is the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Our apt is across the street. We walked the lower half of the park<\/p><\/div>\n

Looking south. Empire State building in the center and off to the right out in the water is the Statue of Liberty<\/p><\/div>\n

When they say Top of the Rock they aren’t kidding.\u00a0 We were at the very top of the building.<\/p>\n

We got up to the top about 3:30 pm and Dwayne wanted to stay until the sun set and we could get a couple of night pictures.\u00a0 I think we were up there for about an hour maybe an hour and a half.<\/p>\n

After this we had some pizza for dinner, got some pictures of the Christmas tree.\u00a0 Watched a show on the side of the Saks 5th Ave building and took a stroll through the FAO Schwarz store.<\/p>\n

I think Dwayne figured out after we were back at the apartment that we walked about 9 miles today.\u00a0 And I’m sure there will be more tomorrow.\u00a0 All I know is that I will sleep really well tonight.\u00a0 LOL.<\/p>\n
